Objective |
This was tough. You may have read
elsewhere on this site that we turn people down
when we genuinely believe they won't make a
profit. With this campaign from AMS, we were very
worried about that.
AMS, to their credit, were very positive and
focused about the benefits of their course. They
really believed in it, and we fed right off that.
As with most training courses and seminars, we
encouraged our customer to offer something free to
get interest. Meridian Delta's servers are
advanced - we set up a system where someone could
fill their name in directly on the email and
within minutes, a course outline would be sent
back to them.
That's just what we did with AMS. We put together
a readable and exciting email (see below), and
people responded in numbers.

who could afford to send 3 or more delegates to
the conference.

were the results? |
AMS's staff responded quickly to the
request coming in and made a good profit from
their campaign.
 Despite the cost and despite the length of the
course, this proved an amazingly popular sell and
we're booked in to market the new course on the
strength of the results. Most response levels at time of writing
however are closer to the average response rate of
1-2 per 1,000. |

| All figures given are based on customer correspondence with
us. Email marketing is a form of advertising, and as with all
advertising it can be successful as well as unsuccessful. We
do not guarantee any level of response. On average, for
every 1,000 email sent out, there are 1-2 opt outs, even
fewer than fax broadcasting! When we
receive an opt-out, we remove the number from all databases
to ensure they are never emailed by us or the pool
participants again.
