Home > Email Marketing > In-House Advertising for UK Fax Disc

Email marketing really does bring in the business, and we use our data and infrastructure to offer our wide range of budget services to small-to-medium-sized enterprises in the UK..

The UK Fax Disc was originally launched in March 2003 and has been a consistent good seller for us. Originally with just 150,000 numbers and now with over 200,000, we were a little unsure about the product before it went out for the first time.

Fax marketing has always been a niche offering and, out of the millions of businesses in the UK, we think that probably less than 10,000 have ever used it. Would customers be receptive to this type of product.

We wanted to combine, as we do with your advertising, exciting, punchy sales copy together with accurate descriptions and a practical explanation of the benefits for the customer.

This campaign was from Christmas 2004, and these adverts brought in around £4,000 worth of new sales every month.

Objective Although this was the beginning of the end for active marketing of the UK Fax Disc (save a couple of successful campaigns in 2005), we wanted to find the last few customers who would be interested in the service.

One major selling point at this time was that the disc had been updated with a new set of numbers three months before, and it was important to get that message across.
Whom were they targeting? Our data is never more than 9 months old - thanks to the specialist companies which supply us with data. We can get to just the companies you need. Click here to find out how.

The original goal of the "UK Fax Disc" was to turn advertising from a considered purchase to an impulse purchase. For example, if a business was having a slow month, we saw the disc as a tool for them to drum up business.

We targeted companies with less than 10 members of staff for whom the data would be very useful.
What were the results? The UK Fax Disc email and fax campaigns were always profitable for us..

After the initial spurt of sales for the first 18 months of the product, this campaign came at the end of that period. The revenues brought in by the UK Fax Disc with this marketing came as very welcome and helpful during a difficult time of transition for the company.

The UK Fax Disc remains a popular product to this day - every month, over 1,000 people update their discs against the latest FPS data.

All figures given are based on customer correspondence with us. Email marketing is a form of advertising, and as with all advertising it can be successful as well as unsuccessful. We do not guarantee any level of response. On average, for every 1,000 email sent out, there are 1-2 opt outs, even fewer than fax broadcasting! When we receive an opt-out, we remove the number from all databases to ensure they are never emailed by us or the pool participants again.
