We started testing our email service way back in June 2002. After six months' testing, we launched the service to our other existing customers and Aura Branding were one of the first to go for it.

Aura disbanded in late 2004 due to a fall-out among the directors - the three are now running separate companies (not just in promotional goods) and continue to use us to varying degrees.

Up until the time the company split up, we got a regular order of 150,000 emails a month from them. They were constantly surprised by how well the adverts we designed for them pulled responses.

Objective Aura had used Meridian Delta (then called Endeverus) since way back in March 2000.

Originally using us for fax marketing, they were very keen to try our email service when it was properly launched after the 6-month testing period. They were used to and happy with a response rate of 1 in 1,200 with faxing and wanted to know if email could produce them better results.

Given the full-colour aspect of email, they were keen to showcase their products. As there was more natural space on email, they went from highlighting 3 products to 6. What would email do for them?

Aura Branding really helped us launch our email service and recoup our extensive testing costs. They ordered 100,000 emails a month for the 19 or so months before they disbanded.
What were the results? The results pleased them greatly. In the early days of email marketing, customers could expect a response for every 300 emails. Back then, for the first few campaigns, they got well over 250 responses for every campaign - an average of 11-12 calls every day.

Email responsiveness then slipped back over the following 12 or so months to its now normal level of 1 in 1,000 for a response. Whether 1 in 300 or 1 in 1000, Aura's sheer professionalism and salesmanship made them massive profits from their proportionately small investment in email marketing.

   
All figures given are based on customer correspondence with us. Email marketing is a form of advertising, and as with all advertising it can be successful as well as unsuccessful. We do not guarantee any level of response. On average, for every 1,000 email sent out, there are 1-2 opt outs, even fewer than fax broadcasting! When we receive an opt-out, we remove the number from all databases to ensure they are never emailed by us or the pool participants again.
