Objective Building a database from scratch in this overcrowded market-place is quite a challenge.

Our job was to hit potential customers direct between the eyes. Our advertising style is very loud and direct - we've got to help the customer make an impression within 3 seconds of opening the email or it's a failure.

As with many of our emails, we want to combine the corporate style of our customer with our sheer directness. We asked the customer to supply us with 6 products they were prepared to make a special offer on. After that, our job was to shout as loudly about how special the offers were.

Our customer's initial campaign was for 60,000 emails, primarily concentrated around the Midlands. They were going for all companies - under the belief that whether a one-man band or a 50-person business, public relations was always good.
What were the results? The initial 60,000 emails produced 53 responses. Our customer reports to us that around 30% of that turned into business within 6 weeks, making a very healthy profit on their original outlay with us. No wonder companies in this field stay with Meridian Delta.

   
All figures given are based on customer correspondence with us. Email marketing is a form of advertising, and as with all advertising it can be successful as well as unsuccessful. We do not guarantee any level of response. On average, for every 1,000 email sent out, there are 1-2 opt outs, even fewer than fax broadcasting! When we receive an opt-out, we remove the number from all databases to ensure they are never emailed by us or the pool participants again.
