Personalised stories make constant reference to the pupil and their friends. For example, from our popular Ballerina Princess story, here is how the story changes for Phillipa... "Phillipa Warren, age 21, was walking in a park near Epsom, Surrey. She was watching butterflies playing in the flowers and was quite surprised when a king and queen arrived. "We're looking for a beautiful young girl to become the new princess of our kingdom," the king said." (personalisation shown in red for example only)

Because of their personalisation, these stories work well with English Key Stage 1 reading content - including... • identifying and describing characters, events and settings in fiction (because the pupils are the centre of the story, • encouraging pupils to respond imaginatively in different ways to what they read, and • reading texts with greater accuracy and understanding. With our stories, pupils can be taught about the characteristics of different types of text (for example, beginnings and endings in stories, use of captions, etc.)

Currently, two large pre-school nurseries use Personalised Stories to give their pupils leaving presents as they head into mainstream schooling.
