Meridian Delta is a company, around since 1998 in our original incarnation as a sole trader, which has focused on providing marketing options to smaller businesses looking to develop existing or new markets. Despite our focus, Meridian Delta has many large corporate customers as well as public sector bodies and charities on our customer database.

We offer two main areas of expertise to customers with marketing data for the public sector. We are very focused on providing long-term value to customers - we want you to make money by working with us. What is the average age of the records on the database?
The database is updated on a continuous cycle by Oscar's team of researchers - the average record age is under 4 months.

Are the contacts on the database checked personally?
Contacts are telephoned and details updated either directly or departmentally. This means that, if we are unable to contact the decision maker themselves, we gain confirmation of their position from colleagues.

Do you identify who you are on the phone?
Yes, in accordance with the stipulations of the List Warranty Register. The public sector database offered is part of this register.

What other types of verification take place?
Annually, organisations are sent the details we hold on them for re-verification of contacts/organisational structure. We also ask them to provide any requested/additional demographic information.

Do you monitor press and web sources?
Yes, but only to watch for changes outside our usual update cycle. It helps us better prepare for telephone verification.

Do customers give feedback when a decision maker has moved on or something else has changed?
The database also benefits from many of our more regular clients feeding back information, updates and imminent changes as a result of their own interaction with the database. This is the same for Meridian Delta's regular clients on its own data products.

How do the public sector organisations feel about having their data collected for marketing purposes?
The data is collected for a number of different purposes, one of which is marketing. Oscar Research is also pleased to have the support and co-operation of a number of Local Authorities, Government Departments, Executive Agencies and Universities who are both customers and provide them with the details of contact and organisational changes.

What data guarantees do you offer?
Accuracy and reliability is key to any data company wanting to stay around in business. Two major reasons for inaccuracy in databases are changes outside the update cycle, inability to confirm new information as part of the update cycle and human error when inputting the data. That said, a 98% guarantee is offered on postal mailing and 85% on email deliverability when sent through the Meridian Delta Email Sender that is provided as part of the package.
