Why is there a minimum order value?
 |
|
Our most expensive cost is engineer time. Our engineer
time is factored at a certain hourly rate and a certain
amount of hours per month per customer. We have to
factor in that time to all jobs - if we can minimise it,
we pass the savings on to you.
|
 |
Do the email addresses have decision-maker names?
 |
On our opt-in, telephone-verified leased lists, 40% of
the data has the recipients’ job title and name. In the
large majority of cases, this is for a decision maker
(Director, Manager etc) who have identified themselves
as such on the telephone to the companies we lease the
data from.
The remainder are named emails however we do not have
the name as a separate field or the job title. Decision
maker status cannot be guaranteed on these, however as
the data gatherers only ask for decision makers, the
strong likelihood is that they are.
We can provide logs enabling you to check that a certain
recipient has been sent the email. As with all
marketing, we can guarantee that they have been sent,
but cannot guarantee that they have been opened.
It is important to let you know that, as a budget
service, we have to lease our data carefully to get our
prices as low as possible. We buy just enough to make
sure that we can provide accurate marketing (in terms of
line of business, postcode and size) to decision makers
(by only buying one at each company and limiting the
amount of supporting information, this keeps our costs
as competitive as they are).
On our other B2B DMA-compliant lists, including our
original database.
65% of our data is what is know as "generic" -
for example, info@mdelt.co.uk,
enquiries@mdelt.co.uk,
etc.

The other 35% has a decision-maker name on it, usually
the managing director but not always.

Our service is best suited if your company wants to sell
to other companies with 50 or less staff. In companies
like these, emails sent to generic addresses tend
greatly to go to decision-makers, who then decide
whether to deal with it themselves or pass it onto
someone else.

In other words, there is very little practical
difference between sending to "named" and
"generic" emails when a company has 25 or less
member of staff. As ours is a budget service, we buy
telephone-researched and opt-in "generic"
names first because it costs us less and we can pass the
savings on to you. You pay less and hit virtually all
the same people you would with a 100% "named"
list.

 |
Which type of company is the service best suited to?
 |
|
If you can offer your product across a wide range of
businesses across the UK (about 15% of respondents can),
our email marketing will be the best advertising deal you have
ever come across in terms of cost and response. Bar
none.
|
 |
What is the point of splitting the campaign over a
number of days or weeks?
 |
On successful campaigns, you could get dozens of
responses over just two or three days if you send out in
one go. The vast majority of our customers are small
businesses. Each small business has their own 'capacity'
- the leeway to deal with customers the way you want to
paying them the right level of respect and attention.

By splitting the campaign, you can do this easily.
Responses come in over a longer time period meaning your
service levels aren't compromised. Plus, sometimes it
takes two or three designs to reach optimum
responsiveness. When you split the campaign, you're not
putting all your eggs in one basket - you can change the
email to test for better response. |
 |
What about reporting?
 |
Meridian Delta offers a budget service. We
value-engineer our services to offer great value.

You're in business - you know you pay for what you get.
We can offer the prices that we do because we shave off
all the additional services you would get from another
supplier. The surprising thing is that it is not the
email records used on your campaign that pushes up the
cost, it's the amount of time engineers and designers
spend on it that makes it expensive.

No email company offers delivery logs. Unlike faxing,
there is no mechanism within email where the receiving
machine sends a delivery report back to the sending
machine to say that it has been recieved. Obviously,
we're no different.

We can give you "send logs" - the names of the companies
we sent to on your behalf, together with their line of
business, their postcodes and the size of their
companies (measured by number of staff). On a split
campaign, we can send you those logs on 3 different days
of the campaign. Any more and we start to lose money on
the campaign as each log takes up to 30 minutes to
prepare.

For "read" logs, we can provide these for you at the
cost of £15 per day of the campaign. |
