fun, inclusive & educational
Samba Bamba and “Bash Your Trash” are separate workshops based in the North West of England sharing a common goal: - to provide an educational, inspirational and fun day of music and percussion involving the entire school.
Both workshops provide an educational, inspirational and fun day of music and percussion involving the entire school. Everyone gets to participate, from nursery and reception right the way through to year 6 and beyond, not forgetting the teachers of course!

Samba Bamba is a percussion based workshop whose aim is to introduce and raise awareness of World Music.
We do this by using the voice, along with walking and clapping exercises before introducing Samba percussion instruments culminating in a class rendition of a simplified version of Samba Batucada one style of Samba. We supply all instruments.

• Each child gets to play an instrument regardless of ability.
• Adapted to suit each of the key stage learning requirements.

The “Bash Your Trash” workshop meets all the aims and objectives of Samba Bamba by using everyday objects such as plastic bins, plastic pipe, dog dishes, dustpans etc and was borne out of my own experience as a child playing pots and pans with wooden spoons, my mum got fed up replacing them so she got me a drum kit too my delight and the neighbours trepidation!
Pick up that pipe and hit that bin!!

"I would like to say that the staff and children thoroughly enjoyed the work they did and were most enthusiastic. The children had little experience of samba style music before the day so it was completely new. The day has led to teachers using samba style music in class and in performances throughout school."
Castle Hills Primary School, Doncaster

"The staff and kids thought you were a wow!
"He was great with the children - knew exactly the level to pitch things at - is the best thing we've had for any Arts Week- was spot on with his control- the children could have continued all day long, it was so good - can we have him again..."
St. Winifred's Primary, Manchester
"Sambabamba day at our school was definitely one to remember! The school was filled with the infectious rhythmical drummimg that had everyone tapping their feet. If you closed your eyes you could imagine yourself in the middle of a South American carnival! The children were able to play instruments themselves and really get involved in making this unique style of music (the staff really enjoyed that part too!)"
Snaith Primary School, Yorkshire

The children were fully involved from the first beat! Brian's Samaba Bamba and Bash Your Trash workshops were motivating, inclusive and great fun and had pupils, staff and parents literally dancing in the aisles!
